I’m 20 – been off and on talking to another guy for about 2 years. He said he was 30. I was cool with it. We never made anything official because it was always the wrong time. We finally decide to make something of it. I gave it up for the first time ever on my birthday (July 10th – yes, until about 9 am that morning i was a 20 yr old virgin). I’m going to be perfectly honest and say it was more to do with getting it out of the way and humoring the curious cat than me thinking he was the one. After, while we’re eating birthday cake butt a** nekkid he decides to reveal to me his actual age like he was talking about the weather or something. “Yea, so since I got you a bday cake for your 20th, what you giving me for my 46th?” SAY what now? I ask to see ID, and sure enough the man was born in ’63, not ’79. To top it off, he told me he didnt have any kids. He shows me a picture of his daughter who is sure enough 25. His excuse: “I didn’t lie about that…she’s not a kid, so therefore i dont have any kids.”

I shoulda known something was up when i saw that lone gray hair down there. lmfao.

My Auntie used to tell me all old me could give me was worms also…the jury is still out on that!

I was born in 76, anyone born between 1973 and 1979 is “my age” to me. So, I date anyone born in that stretch, so 3 years older to 3 years younger.

But the thing that kept bugging me was that one of his closest friends’ youngest son graduated 2 years before I did…and I knew him. Talk about uncomfortable times at a barbecue.

I mean everything was great on a friendship level, but when it came to even holding his hand, I felt like I was with someone who was more of my dad than anything (at the time, my parents were going through a nasty divorce that I was stuck in the middle of, so his support came off more paternal than peer), so I felt it wasn’t working out.

But hey, I say if I’m single by the time I hit 27, and he’s available, then I’m all for trying it again. But until then, I think I should stick with people closer to my place in life. Its nice to be around someone well established, but its kind of weird when you’re eating ramen and living with your parents (I’ve since moved out), and your guy is eating caviar on his boat (no kidding). Definitely don’t need someone taking care of me. That is what my parents are for, and what I’m capable of.
