And somehow manage not to…

1. Be overcome by your “allergies” or a sudden feeling that someone near you must be cutting onions or something.

2. Think about the first thing you’d do if you were recently given hands for the first time. And then spend the the entire morning debating whether that was the right choice.

3. Feel shitty about yesterday. When you ordered Singapore Mei Fun from Thai Cuisine to go. Took it home, tasted it, and learned that it was a 1 on the spicy scale instead of the 2 you requested. And allowed this to ruin your entire bitch-ass evening.

I watched this video on Facebook yesterday. Such a strong and courageous young man. First thing he said he wanted to do upon receiving his new hands was pick up his little sister, hold her, and spin her around.

    ALL THE FEELS!

Parenting done right. Kudos to this little man and his mother.

  • And here I am, still not managing to get outta bed…

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW he’s a cutie pie. So happy for him.

But a little sad that those tiny hands had to come from another little one that didn’t make it through whatever they were going through. :-/

“But a little sad that those tiny hands had to come from another little one that didn’t make it through whatever they were going through. :-/”

I thought about that too. :(

He’s adorable and animated. Maybe it’s only me, but, all I could think about when listening to him was how this country is going to do every thing possible to see him as anything but adorable once he grows a few inches. We really have to figure out ways to protect our Black children from this country.

unfortunately people started doing this already smh the comments under the story on NBC by some are terrible…can’t even enjoy a little moment of positivity http://health.nbcnews.com/_news/2015/07/28/33616926-boy-8-gets-double-hand-transplant-in-surgical-first?d=1

      • Val

Wow. But I’m not surprised. And if Zion was a little older the comments would be even worse.

Is it sad that it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be? Although I do love that someone made an underhanded insult about him most likely growing up to be a statistic in philly, denied that it was an insult, and then got schooled by someone who pointed out that… the little boy is not from philly, it’s just that the surgery was performed there.

Saw this on Facebook yesterday too!! It was one of the most adorable videos!!! He’s so mature and the fact that he said he is fine either way because he has his family was icing on the cake!!! He’s definitely a brave little boy and was raised to love!
