(Imagine these awesome shirts, but in gray.)

Both campaigns end in 10 days.

(Also, if you’ve purchased one of these shirts before and you want to be a part of the promos, send a pic of you in it to contact@verysmartbrothas.com. Thanks!)

Why did you change the color??? I put in for a black tee.

  • cakes_and_pies

You spell “gray” with an “a”? Your list of thing that Bougie Black People is so off I almost sent the Black tank back. I’l reserve further judgment and cop the GREY one too. This tank betta match my midi knit skirt and big hair.

  • Pinks

Gray is the American English preferred spelling, while grey is more common to British English. Much like A.E. standard is toward, while British is towards, A.E. = forward, B.E. = forwards.

    • AlwaysCC

i’ve determined that i must’ve been a brit in a former life. i make all kinds of a.e. “errors” when i write lol

      • Pinks

LOL, a lot of people do. I used to, until I was paid to correct those “errors.”

The things people do to this language are downright criminal.

        “I love reading biography’s.”

Biography’s what? Is biography a person? Do they own something? It’s maddening.

        • AlwaysCC

that’s the funny thing…i get paid to write and edit for my corporation lol

but my “errors” are more like travelling v traveling…and using the Oxford comma

don’t *even* get me started on the (mis)use of your/you’re

          • Pinks

I just think the Oxford comma makes more sense in a lot of cases than to not use it. I also cringe when people insert commas unnecessarily:

“What you won’t do, is look me up and down, heffa.” One of these days I’mma get serious and become an adult literacy teacher.

            • AlwaysCC

i have 2 copies of “eats, shoots and leaves” best. book. ever. lol

      • Amazonian Midget

I thought this was just me!

    • h.h.h.

<– supporter of the Kings English

      • Pinks

Do you use neighbour and colour also?

        • Lea Thrace

          i do.

        • h.h.h.

it’s a habit i’ve picked up…along with ‘organise’ and ‘recognise’

          • Pinks

That’s so interesting – in my world, I have to treat those as mistakes though it’s clear what the intent is. Sometimes I dread having to teach my son about this awful, beautiful language of ours.

            • h.h.h.

i’m able to fix it so that anything official (business volunteer stuff, etc.) i typically keep it in American style, but anything personal (here, social media, etc.) i keep in British style.

if i ever have a kid, i can’t wait to tell ’em how English is pretty much French with a German accent, and German with a French accent lol

      • AlwaysCC

judging by your latest avi, you also support foolery? lol

        • h.h.h.

well Foolery is my last name..

        • h.h.h.

and this is one of my candid photos of myself, i’ll have you know. as you young folk say, my swag was on fleek

          • AlwaysCC

i’m placing you on verbal probation for the use of those terms lol

  • BajeHoney

Having a mostly British education growing up, I still use the British spelling (flavour, colour etc) just like I did throughout college. It’s never been an issue with any colleagues or professors because it’s technically correct.

  • BajeHoney

On topic: It’s great that these shirts are back. Some “Very Smart Sista” & “Very Smart Brotha” ones would be awesome too.

  • Allywood

If I placed an order on Feb 2nd, will it be included in this batch?
