@Deviant, this prevailing attitude is why that holiday (or otherwise doing something different in December) may never really take off. Christmas is such an atomic powered machine and it seeks to make pariahs out of those who don’t play along. Sad really.

I love Eggnog @ xmas time…personally I think it should be sold year round..but then again maybe I wouldn’t appreciate it as much…especially the batch with the whiskey..that batch get’s the party right.
Sorry..i Had a moment..
But yes I love seeing the look on my younger family members’ faces. I love bringing joy to them even when they know they have done something..or somethings they probably shouldn’t have during the year. I’m not sure if this sentiment will remain when I have my own children..so they better enjoy it now

@tempsoner, There are few nuclear families on this earth. Know this.
And on a holiday like this, it’s easy to get bummed out when you don’t fit into the hallmark description of a happy family. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
