#5 Should be “Have your own! Have your own! HAVE YOUR OWN!”
Your own place(apartment, house, condo), no roomate. And moms “basement apartment” does not count as your own. We women do not want to come to “your place” and mom is calling you upstairs b/c dinner is ready. Have you’re own car. And I’m not saying you have to be driving a BMW but at least have something to get you from point A to point B & to me. Sorry but MARTA, SEPTA bus/train isn’t good enough… I want to know that you are stable and that you can handle things on your own. If you can’t take care of you then you can’t take care of us.

A Grown A** Black Man (over 30) needs his own crib..PERIOD!!! Unless he’s in graduate school or caring for ailing relatives, having his own crib is a must! (If he must share a crib with relatives or roommates, seperate entrance preferred..I’m too damned old to be doing “the walk of shame”!-lol)

1. More than 1 pair of formal/work shoes;

2. Natural hair, no waves, perms or relaxed hair brother pls!!! I’m sick n tired of nuckas walking around with their gotdam hair blwoin in the wind. Da f#ck?! NO!!!

3. Your own ride, unless u stay in New York or some $hit

5. Furniture. Nuckas be rolling in phly rides but forgot to buy a sofa/couch?! Com’n Son.

7. Atleast 1 freind you’ve known from college/university…even better high school.

9. Favourite cd other than some hip hop artist

10. A mirror.

LOL Cavemen? OK Those circumstances are definitely noteworthy as I imagine a great number of men may not have had that maternal bond in their lives. However, I don’t find it excusable, especially for a “grown ass man” in our society–with all the resources available and what not. We all have hardships, but there are usually opportunities presented to overcome them. He can seek out a mentor, learn from his buddies who’ve had secure relationships, etc. Hell, maybe (just maybe) I’d be willing to teach the right one :=) *no phone calls please!
