Dominique Dawes looks great! Definitely a trailblazer.

      • Cheech

Never thought I’d see her look tall.

        • Brass Tacks

Biles technically could be considered a little person..

    • cyanic

Why does that grown woman look like one of her kids?

      • Illumina

Have you seen the female gymnasts from China? One of them is twenty, but she looks like she is twelve.

        • cyanic

I never understood the science behind these girls being munchkin height with a baby face and very high voice.

          • brothaskeeper

That’s so creepy to me. Are they genetically engineered, like square watermelons?

          • Cheech

The science is they lie about their age.
The tiny ones rotate faster, which is an advantage on many moves.

            • SororSalsa

              That too.

            • Kas

The Chinese would never cheat. Clutches pearls in horror at the thought.

          • SororSalsa

When you train that hard during adolescence, you don’t go through puberty, so technically, they’re still little girls. That’s why you often see gymnasts blow up when they finally retire. They develop in like 6 months.

        • Jennifer

If those girls are 20, then I’m white.

        • Cleojonz

Didn’t the Chinese gymnasts get caught for having underage gymnasts in the past? saying they were 16/17 and they were really like 14?

          • CookieGugglemanFleck

During the Beijing Olympics there was a lot of talk around the Chinese team that there was no way their team was legit. The girls looked so, so young and when they’d lose or make a mistake, they’d walk back to their Chinese coaches with quivering lips like the children they are. It was weird.

    • miss t-lee

      How cute is Dominique!!!

  • Jordan Hora

EPL might have some competition on becoming America’s newest favorite (foreign) sport as the Fiji men’s Rugby team are winning hearts left and right. #Rio2016 #OlympicTalk

  • brothaskeeper

Watching light heavyweight boxing. This British boxer looks like he’s handling this Uzbekistanian.

    Edit: Uzbekistanian got KTFO!

    • Sigma_Since 93

That two piece was something to see in slow mo

  • PriceIsRightHorns

    SIMONE!

    • brothaskeeper

4 feet and 8 inches of magical perfection.

      • PriceIsRightHorns

I was able to watch her floor exercise in the all around live on the NBC app. She’s amazing!

        • brothaskeeper

When she lands, it’s like someone threw a knife at a piece of wood.

          • PriceIsRightHorns

            Perfect analogy.

  • brothaskeeper

Did anyone watch basketball yesterday? USA lost the first half and would’ve lost the game if not for (of all people) Melo.

    • Hugh Akston

      was very surprised..haha

      • brothaskeeper

The Aussie team has as many NBA rings as the US team.

    • Knicks headed to the playoffs.

      • brothaskeeper

Not with DRose’s papier maché knees.

        • Kas

          And hamstring, and ankle

          • Hahahaha

            • Cleojonz

This is really not right but I totally *Muttley snickered*

          • All we need is only one of them to stay healthy.. and solid backup PGs. Yeah, we need two.

            • Kas

I tried being a Knick fan for a few years. My constitution couldn’t handle it.

              • Things are looking up.

                • Kas

Nah Imma finish letting these Lakers break my heart.

    • Brass Tacks

I wasn’t really worried. The worst outcome would have been America winning by 7…

      • brothaskeeper

        Is anyone playing defense, though?

        • Brass Tacks

We’re literally watching a cheat code team.

          I ain’t worried

  • QueenRaven23

Ugh I’m back on the treadmill watching Simone

    • brothaskeeper

      • Janelle Doe

        You know it ;-)

  • Hugh Akston

need to learn how to float…watching those swimmers always get me hype

    • I can go forward. That’s it. I’m basically a black azz shark.

      • Hugh Akston

same here if i stop i drown, if i get tired i drown…took a class at the Y, no dice…so now i go in the pool with life jack on…still think im going to drown…don’t know what else to do bleh

        • Kas

Need to spend more time in the water.

          • This is what I hear but I’m perfectly fine staying in water under 7 feet deep.

            • Kas

I grew up swimming (really more goofing around in backyard pools), but amazing how much harder I find it now. My stamina is not what it used to be.

              • I agree without going in to detail about my stamina.

              • QueenRaven23

I would be in the pool every week if I could. I mean I could do it, but I only swim when no one else is in the pool and I know it’s been cleaned because I’ve seen some thangs where I live.

          • Hugh Akston

im trying but just feel defeated when im trying so hard and then a 5 year old just dive in and act like a little fish…smh

            • Kas

That’s just your pride getting in the way.

              • Hugh Akston

damn it…my Achilles’s heel..didn’t have to throw me out like that smh trying to be better

        • Cj

Don’t [anic, just relax. Humans are naturally buoyant. You will sink at first, but once you relax you begin to float, but if you’re uncomfortable and get jittery once that happens you’ll be fighting the water the entire time.

          • Hugh Akston

ok this may be a dumb question

but how do you not panic and stay relax?

(i swam in the great barrier and almost drowned myself with a life jacket on, well worth it lol)

            • Cj

Practice the deadman’s float, disregard the name lol. It’s important to concentrate on the water being a mechanism for peace before doing this. If the action of water going into your nose or ears freaks you out, mentally this will be tough. Go into a pool on the shallow end, like about 4 ft. Take several deep breaths and then hold your face to the surface and let your body go; slowly open up until you are in an X formation. This has a lot to do with how long you can hold your breath. You will feel yourself sinking, but is literally water you can stand in so you just have to get used to the idea of being submerged. Your body will sink for a few seconds and then began to rise to the surface while your are holding your breath, once you exhale, you will begin to sink again. Don’t panic just go with the flow. Eventually you will come up and be able to turn your head skywards so you can breathe. Its called the Deadmans float, but you can youtube it for better clarity. It was my favorite trick to do in the water as a kid. Once you mastered this, waves and such is less daunting or even being on the deep end because you know it all else fails you can just relax your body, float to the top, catch your breath, and rinse and repeat until you can get help or get to a safe depth.

              • LMNOP

Also, if someone can put their hands under you and then gradually pull them away to be under you but not touching you I think that can help reduce panicking.

              • Hugh Akston

ok last question (thank you for the advice)

should i try that with or without a life jacket?

                • Cj

Without, that’s why you’re doing it in the shallow end. The point is to figure out your body’s natural buoyancy and get used to the idea of being submerged without panic. If you really just can’t do it, try it with the life jacket until the under water part no longer bothers you then try it without, good luck.
